Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Administrator to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team developing a next generation satellite terminal on a mission critical Space and Intelligence Program.
Responsibilities of the position:
Server Administration:
- Manage and maintain Linux and Windows servers ensuring their optimal performance security and reliability.
- Perform routine system updates patch management and system optimization.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security best practices for Linux systems.
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline administrative tasks.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
User Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users assisting with system-related issues access requests and user training.
- Collaborate with support teams as needed.
Backup and Recovery:
- Establish and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for both Linux and Windows systems.
- Test and document disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of 8 years experience. Twelveyears of experience required with no degree.
- US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance and undergo a CI polygraph.
- Possess or be able to obtain before start date Security certification.
- Proficiency in Red Hat Linux server administration including configuration of common services such as DNS NFS NTP.
- Scripting skills (e.g. Ansible Bash Python).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of network protocols security and best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Identity Management (IDM)
- Familiar with visualization technologies in Red Hat environment.
