Job OverviewXpect Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator Intern who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and has reached Junior or Senior academic standing.
This internship provides handson experience supporting enterprise IT operations cloud platforms security initiatives and automation projects. The intern will work closely with IT staff to support corporate and contract personnel while applying academic knowledge in realworld technical environments.
Core ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Administrator Intern will support IT operations and projects including but not limited to:
- Providing help desk and technical support to corporate and contract personnel
- Supporting Microsoft 365 laptops printers and peripheral hardware
- Assisting with account provisioning password resets and user access management
- Supporting device enrollment configuration and compliance using Intune / Entra
- Assisting with IT asset management inventory tracking and documentation
- Supporting SharePoint site access group management and templates
- Assisting with security initiatives including phishing simulations and training followups
- Helping develop basic Power BI dashboards and supporting data workflows
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation guides and process records
Requirements- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Computer Science Information Systems Software Engineering or related degree program
- Junior or Senior standing at time of application or internship start
- Coursework or practical experience in one or more programming or scripting languages
- Foundational knowledge of operating systems networking and troubleshooting concepts
- Ability to document technical procedures and communicate effectively with end users
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team
- Attention to detail and commitment to security best practices
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fastpaced environment
Preferred Additional Skills and QualificationsCandidates with experience in multiple areas below will be prioritized:
Programming & Automation
- Experience with one or more languages such as Python PowerShell Java C# or JavaScript
- Exposure to scripting automation or API usage
Frameworks & Platforms
- Familiarity with modern frameworks or cloudbased platforms
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 Azure or similar environments
Database Content & Server Management
- Basic understanding of relational or nonrelational databases
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g. SharePoint)
- Introductory experience with server or cloudhosted systems
Security & Identity Management
- Understanding of security fundamentals (authentication authorization least privilege)
- Awareness of security protocols account lifecycle management and access controls
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity threats and mitigation practices
Troubleshooting & Support
- Experience diagnosing hardware software or user access issues
- Ability to analyze problems and implement effective technical solutions
Duration of Internship: 12-14 Weeks
Hours of Work: Up to 16 Hours Per Week
