Job Summary

The University of Washingtons Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is offering an outstanding opportunity for up to 5 physiatrists to join our faculty in the Division of Sports & Spine. These will be a full-time academic appointments as Professor of Clinical Practice. The primary responsibility for faculty in the Clinical Practice Track is clinical care. Clinical care responsibilities involve the care of individuals with a range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions including sports and spine problems. There is an expectation for clinical teaching scholarship and service. Faculty on the Clinical Practice Track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice Track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described inUWs Faculty Code Section 24-34.

Position FTE may be negotiable.

Opportunity may be available for medical director or other director assignments in the Division of Sports & Spine and/or elsewhere in the Department.

Anticipated start date is Spring or Summer 2026 but other dates may be considered.

As a member of the Division of Sports & Spine the successful candidate will participate in clinical care activities teaching and scholarship.

COMPENSATION

The base salary range for these positions will be$282000 - $385008 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) moving allowance or administrative supplements related to any medical director or other administrative roles assigned.

  • Degrees (MD DO or foreign equivalent)
  • Licensed or license-eligible to practice medicine in the state of Washington
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Spine and General MSK expertise

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Part-time positions will not be eligible for visa or permanent residence sponsorship.
