Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Surgical Services

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

• This unit has a highly experienced team that supports 24 new state of the art inpatient/outpatient operating rooms and 8 heart and vascular and neurology interventional procedure rooms performing surgical procedures to restore and enhance the lives of patients.

• This unit operates 24/7 with coverage and support expectations of weekends and off-shift rotations at least quarterly.

  SCHEDULE:

  • Full-Time 40-hours per week

  • On-call holiday and weekend rotations required

  • Location: Baystate Medical Center Springfield

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed as an LPN in the state of Massachusetts

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification

  • Minimum 1 year of LPN experience; surgical experience strongly preferred

  Orientation & Training Overview (OR):

  • New hires will complete Peri-Op 101 followed by a structured orientation with a preceptor across OR services.
  • Orientation typically ranges from 7 months to 1 year and is primarily MondayFriday day shift during initial training

  Schedule & Start Date:

  • Start date is TBD based on offer and unit readiness. Initial training schedules are fixed and mandatory.
  • Shift options and long-term scheduling will be determined based on unit needs.

  Additional Information:

  • Time-off requests during Peri-Op 101 are limited.
  • More detailed scheduling shift options and orientation expectations will be reviewed by the recruiter during the screening and hiring process.
