Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of an OCR Project Manager on 3-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 57.92 - 81.09 per hour

Summary:

The OCR Project Manager will lead the transition of all existing invoice and document Optical Character Recognition (OCR) activities into the new SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba landscape. The primary focus of this role is to ensure a controlled migration from legacy solutions achieve robust technical integration and realize efficiency and control benefits for Southwark Council. You will manage the workstream from initiation through to handover and post-go-live stabilization.

Responsibilities:

Plan manage and deliver the OCR workstream within the broader SAP S/4HANA programme
Maintain detailed project plans RAID logs and status reports covering requirements design build and testing.
Map current OCR use cases (invoices statements forms) and define the target solution in S/4HANA/Ariba
Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements data protection (GDPR) and public sector audit standards
Develop a change plan for affected users in Finance Accounts Payable (AP) and Shared Service Centres
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitate the handover to Business-as-Usual (BAU) teams

Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline such as Business IT or Finance.
A recognized project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 MSP PMP)

Essentials:

Proven track record of delivering technology-enabled change in a public sector or complex environment
Demonstrable experience leading OCR document imaging or invoice automation projects
Experience with large-scale ERP transformation programmes specifically involving SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP Ariba.
Experience in redesigning processes within Accounts Payable Procurement or Finance Shared Services.
