Summary:
As the Service Development Manager for the Great Estates programme you will be at the heart of Southwark Councils mission to improve the lives of its residents. You will lead commission and oversee a diverse portfolio of projects designed to enhance the physical environment and social fabric of the boroughs housing estates. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on project management ensuring that every initiativefrom physical landscaping to anti-social behavior reductionis delivered on time within budget and in true partnership with the local community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary range of projects including physical estate improvements landscaping health and wellbeing initiatives and arts/cultural programming.
- Act as the primary link between the Council and its residents. Lead robust consultation processes from project inception to completion to ensure community needs are met.
- Develop and implement targeted initiatives to reduce crime and anti-social behavior while fostering social integration across the estates.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership ensuring projects remain aligned with the broader Great Estates strategic objectives.
Essentials:
- Proven track record of managing complex high-value projects within a local government or housing association context.
- Extensive experience in resident engagement and the ability to navigate sensitive stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Strong background in managing project budgets including financial reporting and ensuring value for money.
