About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager: ICT the ICT Manager will provide operational leadership across ICT planning development implementation and support. The role is responsible for managing the ICT unit ensuring high system availability robust security strong governance and alignment with organisational strategy.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Key Requirements:

  • An appropriate recognised qualification at NQF Level 7
  • A relevant NQF Level 8 qualification will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant ICT experience including 3 years in a supervisory role
  • At least 2 years experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud/Services
  • Experience in the Education sector will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align ICT operational plans with business objectives and organisational strategy
  • Assist with the development implementation and monitoring of the ICT strategy
  • Ensure high network availability and effective backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Manage technical support and day-to-day ICT operations
  • Oversee endpoint protection antivirus patch management and security compliance reporting
  • Manage servers networks software and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Provide technical leadership guidance and training to ICT staff
  • Oversee ICT governance audits policies and risk management
  • Manage ICT projects and special initiatives
  • Develop and manage the ICT sub-unit budget
  • Lead mentor and develop the ICT team

Key Competencies:

  • Budget and vendor management
  • Strong understanding of networks systems and software
  • Data protection security and access control
  • Knowledge of ICT legislation frameworks and compliance
  • SCM procurement processes
  • Strong business acumen judgement and attention to detail
  • People management and leadership capability
