Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and capable Kitchen Manager to run the kitchen of our busy vibe restaurant and bar.

This all day eatery is looking for a responsible individual with prior experience to manage daily kitchen activities including:

Food Preparation and Cooking: Overseeing food preparation cooking and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
Inventory Management: Managing inventory ordering supplies and ensuring ingredients are fresh and available.
Kitchen Staff Management: Hiring training and supervising kitchen staff scheduling shifts and ensuring staff performance.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Managing food costs reducing waste and optimizing spending without compromising quality.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Quality Control: Tasting dishes checking the presentation and ensuring high standards are met consistently.
Collaboration: Working with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills:

REQUIREMENTS: Matric Culinary Diploma preferred Preferably /- 4 years previous experience in a senior chef role Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques Own transport with valid drivers license Ability to work both fast and accurately Leadership and management skills Able to work in a team Basic computer skills (word excel outlook) Exceptional customer-service skills Excellent written & oral communication skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings public holidays weekends) Ability to work under pressure Creative problem-solving skills
