At Suncorp were committed to building resilient communities and helping customers recover and thrive in the face of natural hazards. Our Pricing team plays a critical role in understanding natural peril risk and ensuring our pricing reflects both customer fairness and business sustainability.

Were looking for a Natural Perils Pricing Analyst to help develop implement and monitor cutting-edge pricing models that assess natural hazard risk at an individual address level.

What youll do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build blend and implement individual address and catastrophe pricing models across perils such as cyclone bushfire earthquake flood hail storm demand surge and underinsurance
  • Apply a mix of data science techniques environmental research insurance claims insights and external expertise to develop robust pricing models
  • Monitor and formally track the effectiveness of pricing changes over time
  • Assess the impacts of pricing changes on new business renewals lapses cancellations concentration risk and reinsurance outcomes
  • Partner with teams across the business to share insights and pricing knowledge
  • Prepare portfolio impact analysis business cases and clear recommendations for senior stakeholders

What Youll Bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Actuarial Studies is essential
  • Strong analytical capability with a solid academic foundation and the ability to solve complex problems
  • Exposure to analytical and programming tools such as SAS Python R Excel and relational databases
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive collaborative mindset with strong time management skills and a willingness to learn
