Post: Cluster Chief Executive (Hong Kong Island)
Pay: This is a senior executive role and will be remunerated accordingly and commensurate with the skills knowledge and experience of the successful applicant.
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Upon the integration of the Hong Kong East and West clusters the new Hong Kong Island Cluster (HKIC) comprises of 14 hospitals namely Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) Ruttonjee Hospital (RH) Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals (TSKH) Tung Wah Eastern Hospital (TWEH) Wong Chuk Hang Hospital (WCHH) St. John Hospital (SJH) Cheshire Home (Chung Hom Kok) Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) the Duchess of Kent Childrens Hospital at Sandy Bay (DKCH) Grantham Hospital (GH) MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre (MMRC) Tsan Yuk Hospital (TYH) Tung Wah Hospital (TWH) and TWGHs Fung Yiu King Hospital (FYKH) and 18 family medicine clinics.
Job
Successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive. He/she will be the leader and overall manager of the Hong Kong Island Cluster with the following key responsibilities:
1. To establish and implement corporate and strategic directions operational objectives plans and policies for the hospitals in the cluster to optimize and further their potentials to serve patients and the community.
2. To plan and develop integrated community-based healthcare services using the total resources available to the cluster through close collaboration with various stakeholders including NGOs and the private sector.
3. To be accountable for the total budget of the cluster and to ensure prudent manpower financial and resource management.
4. To manage and oversee clinical and non-clinical risks of the cluster to ensure quality and patient safety.
5. To oversee the management of Coroner and medico-legal cases public complaints/enquiries and media enquires involving hospitals in the cluster.
6. To manage and oversee the work of Hospital Chief Executives in the cluster who will be his/her deputies in the cluster management team.
7. To participate in and contribute to the work of the Head Office top management team as the senior executive responsible for the cluster.
Requirements
1. Tertiary education.
2. Substantial senior management experience in healthcare services.
3. Good knowledge of and relevant experience in the operation of public hospitals preferably in Hong Kong.
4. Strong leadership qualities as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Analytical innovative and committed to achieving strategic results.
6. Possession of medical / healthcare administration qualification is a definite advantage. For applicants who are registered medical practitioners possession of Fellowship or Associate Fellowship of Hong Kong College of Community Medicine is an added advantage.
7. Demonstrated success in leading a multi-disciplinary team.
