Role Overview
Thomas & Hutton is seeking an experienced Landscape Architect Project Manager to join its Myrtle Beach SC team. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned landscape architecture professional with a passion for innovative sustainable design and a strong background managing complex projects from concept through completion.
The Project Manager will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staffwhile maintaining the highest standards of design excellence client service and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management
Lead and mentor a team of landscape architects through all phases of project delivery.
Manage projects from conception through construction ensuring schedules budgets and quality standards are met.
Oversee project scopes timelines and financial performance.
Continuously improve project workflows tools and delivery processes.
Design & Collaboration
Collaborate with clients consultants and internal engineering teams to develop and implement high-quality design solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards sustainability goals and local regulations.
Apply sustainable design principles and best practices across project types.
Client & Business Development
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and engagement.
Support business development efforts including proposal preparation interviews presentations and fee negotiations.
Represent the firm through networking and client-facing activities.
Team Development
Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture.
Professional licensure or registration (RLA/PLA).
810 years of experience in landscape architecture design and project management.
Experience across diverse project types (parks commercial master-planned communities etc.).
Strong background in site planning and the entitlement process.
Proven experience managing project budgets schedules and cost estimates.
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
Familiarity with local regulations permitting and approval processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead mentor and motivate teams.
Strong communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
