About this Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for project delivery from inception through construction. Manages consultant engineering contracts (develops project scopes negotiates man-hours and fees establishes contract time requirements establishes design criteria monitors progress and quality of work approves final acceptance of plans and approves invoices for payment). Reviews plans prepared by consultants for conformity with AASHTO guidelines and DOTD policies procedures and standards. Coordinates project development through contact with entities principals and senior engineers of consulting firms as well as their design staff.
This is a Dual Career Ladder (DCL) position that requires candidates to meet Supplemental Qualifications along with the Minimum Qualifications listed below.

Job Duties:
Consults with the Planning Division to develop delivery schedules for the projects in the program in coordination with the parish city or Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). As the Project Manager is responsible for project delivery from inception through construction.
Manages consultant engineering contracts (develops project scopes negotiates man-hours and fees establishes contract time requirements establishes design criteria monitors progress and quality of work approves final acceptance of plans and approves invoices for payment).
Reviews plans prepared by consultants for conformity with AASHTO guidelines and DOTO policies procedures and standards.
Coordinates project development through contact with entities principals and senior engineers of consulting firms as well as their design staff.
Insures that the DOTD quality control process has been followed. Directs consultants to correct any plan errors and/or omissions discovered during reviews. Prepares formal consultant evaluations/ratings.
Coordinates project development with the Federal Highway Administration when necessary.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); or by detail to special duty.
Compensation:This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $3316.00 biweekly. This position has a Premium Pay of $4.00 for all hours worked.
