We are seeking an enthusiastic caring and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stockport starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children as they transition from the early years foundation stage (EYFS) into Key Stage 1 helping them build confidence independence and a love of learning.

As a Year 1 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum. You will help pupils consolidate their early learning skills develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy and promote positive behaviours and social development. You will play a key role in creating a structured nurturing classroom environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the Year 1 curriculum
Support pupils transitioning from EYFS to KS1
Assess track and monitor pupil progress effectively
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEN
Promote positive behaviour high expectations and independence
Create a structured stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
Work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers about pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings planning sessions and school initiatives
Follow safeguarding health and safety and school policies
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Have recent experience teaching KS1 ideally Year 1
Be enthusiastic organised and reflective in practice
Have strong classroom management and planning skills
Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Have a passion for early learning and child development
