JOB SUMMARY: Students will be located at a community site and be responsible to develop and successfully implement a project that suits the needs of the community at large.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote and preserve the mission of LECOM;
- Act in a friendly professional manner when dealing with faculty students and visitors at all times;
- Maintain confidentiality professional appearance and pleasant demeanor;
- Student will:
- Be physically present on campus for a weekly didactic session;
- Be responsible to develop and implement a community project to benefit the local community;
- Submit weekly journals a final paper and related poster that summarizes the experience;
- Weekly time sheets will be submitted to the Director for review and approval; and
Accept other duties as needed / assigned to create an efficient and effective learning experience.

- The student intern must demonstrate the motor skills required of all LECOM medical school students as specified in the Health & Technical Standards section of the student handbook;

- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;
- The ability to accept work requests from others in a respectful and cooperative manner and to independently answer such requests;
- The ability to work cooperatively and collegially with others consistent with a workplace of dignity and respect and EEO rules and regulations;
- The ability to devote full attention and energy to the important work of LECOM in a timely fashion; and
- Be able to be flexible to accept other duties needed/assigned for the Institutions needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to: being a current LECOM student in the MS1 or DPM1 program with a LECOM grade point average as approved by the Director of the program and the Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Education.
Updated vaccinations are a requirement for the position. Proof of vaccination may be required by the partnership facilities.
