Job Summary

This role serves as the primary mechanical systems expert for Intel EMEA REWS operations specializing in HVAC and mechanical infrastructure across critical facilities. The position combines technical leadership with operational excellence to ensure optimal performance of mechanical systems supporting Intels mission-critical operations.

  • Be a technical leader Provide expert guidance on HVAC systems energy optimization and mechanical infrastructure to drive operational excellence across all RDSM sites.
  • Be a problem solver Apply deep technical expertise to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and enhance system reliability through innovative solutions.
  • Control through expertise Ensure consistent application of mechanical engineering best practices and standards across all sites through technical leadership and professional guidance.
  • Be a mentor Develop technical capabilities of HVAC teams through training knowledge transfer and professional development initiatives.
  • Innovate Champion advanced mechanical system technologies and energy conservation initiatives to optimize performance and sustainability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership and Advisory Services

  • Provide professional advice and technical guidance for all Israel RDSM sites (Jerusalem PTK Haifa) with primary responsibility for mechanical systems excellence
  • Conduct design review and verification of new HVAC systems to ensure compliance with Intel standards and operational requirements
  • Support IFM teams with day-to-day technical activities serving as escalation point for complex mechanical issues
  • Occasionally provide technical support to Lachish and other European sites as business needs require

System Optimization and Energy Management

  • Lead energy conservation initiatives focusing on HVAC systems and electrical infrastructure optimization
  • Analyze system performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement efficiency enhancements
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance reliability of supplies to critical equipment and systems
  • Monitor and optimize mechanical system operations to achieve maximum energy efficiency and cost effectiveness

Project Management and System Upgrades

  • Escort and provide technical oversight for engineering projects related to mechanical systems
  • Manage upgrade projects for existing HVAC infrastructure ensuring minimal disruption to operations
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful implementation of mechanical system improvements
  • Provide technical input for vendor selection and contract specifications for mechanical system projects

Technical Problem Solving and Analysis

  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical system problems using advanced diagnostic techniques and engineering analysis
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective and preventive measures
  • Develop technical solutions for challenging HVAC system issues across multiple site locations
  • Provide technical support for emergency situations and system recovery operations

Team Development and Knowledge Transfer

  • Mentor and develop HVAC technicians across EMEA sites through technical training and professional guidance
  • Ensure team members maintain current certifications and technical competencies
  • Transfer specialized knowledge to field personnel to enhance overall team capabilities
  • Support recruitment and technical assessment processes for mechanical system personnel

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of industrial HVAC systems including chillers rotating systems pumps cooling towers and building management systems (BMS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for complex mechanical system challenges
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple technical initiatives simultaneously
  • Outstanding communication skills for technical consultation and stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities for industrial mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in energy management principles and conservation methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills. Fluent Hebrew.
  • Advanced Excel skills with good Word Powerpoint and Microsoft Project skills.

Experience

  • Essential minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a mechanical engineer specializing in industrial HVAC systems with proven track record in operational environments (industry experience not design offices)
  • Essential Hands-on experience with chillers rotating systems pumps building management system software and cooling towers in industrial/commercial settings
  • Preferred Experience in semiconductor technology or other mission-critical facility environments
  • Preferred Background in energy management and conservation initiatives within industrial facilities

Qualifications

  • Essential bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with specialized expertise in HVAC systems
  • Essential Professional engineering credentials or equivalent industry certifications
  • Essential Fluent Hebrew and English language skills
  • Preferred Additional HVAC industry certifications (refrigerant handling energy management etc.)
