POSITION DESCRIPTION: Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School has an immediate opening for a cafeteria staff member. TheAssistant Cook will assist the Head Cook with preparation of daily meals (vegetables & starch of the day juice fruit & milk set up what every is needed to set up for breakfast lunch & after school snack bags)
SCHEDULE & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- School-Year (182 days from September - June) 2-3 Training days in August Hours: 6:00 AM to 1:45 PM
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform job duties in the all of the following areas:
- Sink & Serve Dish Room
- Salad Station
- Slicing-Storeroom
- Sandwich Room
- Cash Register
- Rounds Person
- Cleaning Duties
- Following Sanitation and Hygiene Practices
MINIUMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior food service experience is preferred;
- Dependability;
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment;
- Fluency in English sufficient to allow the applicant to read write speak and understand oral and written instructions recipes and other communications that are essential for the safe and effective performance of the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is Medium Work i.e. you must be able to stand up to six (6) hours each workday and to lift and/or carry 25-30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally;
- You will frequently be required to walk/move stand stoop squat or bend during your workday.
- You must possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate kitchen equipment and cash registers and the use kitchen tools including knives.
