We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team and help us deliver a highly effective accurate and responsive payroll service to our staff.

About The Role

As the Payroll Officer you will play a key role in delivering fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles ensuring accuracy compliance and an outstanding employee experience. Youll work collaboratively with our People & Culture and Finance teams as well as a range of external partners to support smooth and efficient payroll operations.
This role is ideal for someone with mid-level payroll experience who enjoys problemsolving continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer service.

What Youll Do.

  • Process endtoend fortnightly casual payroll and assist with monthly pay runs
  • Action and verify employee variations
  • Prepare termination payments including long service leave calculations
  • Set up payroll profiles for new employees and deliver payroll inductions
  • Manage salary packaging deductions and monthly PAYG reporting
  • Reconcile car parking deductions and support dual-appointment reconciliations
  • Maintain secure and accurate electronic payroll records
  • Respond to payroll queries in a timely servicefocused manner
  • Contribute to the transition to a new payroll system including data preparation and process documentation
  • Support interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement (EBA) for payroll matters
  • Participate in ongoing payroll training and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote a positive equitable and safe workplace in line with Floreys values


About You


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Midlevel experience with mainstream payroll software
  • Developing knowledge of payroll legislation awards EBAs and compliance requirements
  • Understanding of tax compliance and salary packaging in the NotforProfit sector
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of staff and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and a processimprovement mindset
  • Experience generating payroll reports
  • Excellent customer service focus

Desirable:

  • Payroll experience in a research or NotforProfit environment
  • Experience with Greentree payroll software
  • HR process knowledge and exposure to HR/payroll operations
