OF ASSIGNMENT

Under general supervision of the building administrator provides outreach to families for recruitment and enrollment of eligible children. Provides assistance to families in their efforts to improve the condition and quality of family life. Coordinates all components to facilitate implementation of program goals.

FUNCTIONS

social services family involvement and mental health components for the ECEAP program at assigned school.
outreach into community served by assigned school. Recruits children and families for the program. Completes initial parent interview and determines program eligibility.
families with social service needs provides current information on community resources and assists families in working with agencies or community organizations to meet those needs. Serves as advocate or spokesperson for families.
counseling or referral emergency assistance and crisis intervention services. May transport child and family for needed services.
family volunteer component of program. Facilitates the involvement of parents in the program and maintains records of all volunteer hours.
and delivers monthly training sessions for ECEAP families including parenting skills child growth and development and other topics as required.
visits and provides home visits and instruction according to work plan requirements or as needed.
accurate records including enrollment information family assessment health records referral to outside agencies and follow-up data. Provides reports as required.
ECEAP program orientation to parents and families as to their rights ands responsibilities in ECEAP; encourages parents to participate in decisions concerning the content and direction of the program.
in-service training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled. Participates in staffing (quarterly mental health reviews) for each family.
ECEAP Teacher with classroom instruction and other activities such as preparing meals and snacks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS


and Experience


1.A two or four year degree in the field of adult education human development human services public health health education nursing social work early childhood education child development psychology or a related field from an accredited public or private institution of higher education and a minimum of two years of successful relevant documented work experience with adults and/or parents or

2.A two year degree in any field from an accredited public or private institution of higher education and at least 30 quarter units or the equivalent semester hours in the fields of adult education human development human services social work nursing public health health education early childhood education child development or a related field and three years of successful work experience with adults and/or parents.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

of county resources for families and appropriate referral procedures.

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a regular elementary school out in the community and in the homes of families in the program which are subject to frequent interruptions uncooperative emotionally disturbed distraught or angry parents or family members small crowded spaces and exposure to infectious diseases. Ability to use arms hands and fingers; lift up to 20 pounds and push/pull 40 pounds; tolerate extreme noise levels dust fumes traffic and inclement weather while driving; bend stretch twist walk or reach requiring ordinary physical efforts; listen more closely than in normal daily life are all required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

The Portable Background Check can be initiated at fundedHead Startand state fundedECEAPprograms require that all staff working with children receive an initial health examinationrequires that all staff working with children complete a two-step Mantoux tuberculosis (TB) skin test or proof of Negative Mantoux TB test in the 12 months prior to hiremedical therapy to treat TB or a recent negative chest x-ray and a statement from a health care providerregular and ongoing medical care and do not pose a risk to the young children (ages 0-5) or pregnant mothers that our program serves.Head Start requires this documentation prior to employment. ECEAP requires documentation within the first 30 days of employment.

AllHeadStartandECEAPstaff to provide specific immunization documentation related to measles mumps rubella (MMR) by January 31 2022 (RCW 43.216.690).
