About the Role

Shodair Childrens Hospital seeks a Genetic Counselor to provide counseling risk assessment and education for patients across Montana. This role includes outreach travel and close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide genetic counseling in clinic and outreach settings.
Collect and interpret medical family and psychosocial histories.
Coordinate and interpret genetic testing.
Educate patients on risks recurrence and testing options.
Document all care in the EMR and produce counseling reports.
Deliver genetics education and develop patient materials.
Connect families with appropriate resources.
Participate in research and uphold all ethical and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Required Education & Experience

Masters degree in Genetic Counseling.

Certification & Licensure

Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG).
Active Genetic Counselor license in Montana and any additional states as required.
