About the Role
Shodair Childrens Hospital seeks a Genetic Counselor to provide counseling risk assessment and education for patients across Montana. This is a general genetics role supporting both pediatric and adult patients which requires outreach travel and close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide genetic counseling in clinic and outreach settings.
- Collect and interpret medical family and psychosocial histories.
- Coordinate and interpret genetic testing.
- Educate patients on risks recurrence and testing options.
- Document all care in the EMR and produce counseling reports.
- Deliver genetics education and develop patient materials.
- Connect families with appropriate resources.
- Participate in research and uphold all ethical and regulatory standards.

Required Education & Experience
- Masters degree in Genetic Counseling.
Certification & Licensure
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG).
- Active Genetic Counselor license in Montana and any additional states as required.
