Position Summary:

Codman Square Health Center (CSHC) seeks an experienced nursing leader to serve as Director of Nursing (DON). The Director of Nursing provides operational and clinical leadership for ambulatory nursing services across all practice sites. This role is responsible for nursing practice oversight team-based care delivery standard work onboarding and training and regulatory compliance in partnership with medical operations and care management leadership.

Organizational Leadership & Reporting Structure:

The Director of Nursing directly supervises:

  • Nurse Supervisor Family Medicine 2 (with Lead MA)
  • Nurse Supervisor Family Medicine 3 (with Lead MA)
  • Nurse Supervisor Internal Medicine (with Lead MA)
  • Nurse Supervisor Pediatrics (with Lead MA)
  • Nurse Supervisor Randolph School-Based Health (with Lead MA)
  • Nurse Supervisor Urgent Care (with Lead MA)
  • Vaccine Coordinator (MA)

The Director of Nursing collaborates closely with the Director of Care Management & Workforce Development Clinical Education leadership Infection Prevention Operations Quality and Compliance teams through a matrixed leadership model.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Nursing Practice & Clinical Operations

Oversees nursing practice across all ambulatory settings ensuring compliance with scope of practice regulatory standards and organizational policies. Leads implementation of nursing SOPs workflows and infection prevention practices.

  1. Leadership & Workforce Development

Recruits mentors evaluates and supports Nurse Supervisors Lead MAs and specialized nursing roles. Ensures standardized onboarding training competency validation and professional development.

  1. Team-Based Care & Integration

Advances integrated team-based care models across clinical sites partnering with operations and medical leadership to improve access patient flow and care coordination.

  1. Quality Safety & Performance Improvement

Uses data and performance metrics to monitor quality outcomes nursing productivity and patient experience. Leads continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions as needed.

  1. Financial & Resource Stewardship

Supports staffing models scheduling practices vaccine stewardship and supply utilization in collaboration with finance and operations.

  1. Communication & Organizational Leadership

Serves as a liaison between frontline nursing staff and executive leadership. Represents nursing in committees strategic initiatives and organizational planning.

  1. Other duties and locations as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2 years of Project Management experience
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Access and other web-based applications.
  • Required to produce complex documents perform analysis and maintain databases.
  • Must be highly organized and able to interact with individuals from very diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (50% of the time)
  • Must be able to lift 10-25 pounds and load onto shelves.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading and computer use.
