Position Summary
The History Teachers at Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College are passionate innovative educators eager to rethink high school social studies and help redefine how Oklahoma teaches history. This role thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment focused on rigor relevance and preparing students for college success through the Early/Middle College model. (Interest in coaching a sport is a plus not required.)
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality engaging history instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards using project-based learning and critical thinking
- Integrate innovative approaches to social studies that connect to real-world issues and student experiences
- Actively participate in coaching feedback and professional learning communities to refine practice
- Plan and internalize lessons with fidelity anticipating misconceptions and differentiating for diverse needs
- Collaborate with teams to analyze data adjust instruction and support postsecondary goals
- Use assessments to provide targeted interventions and enrichment
- Build a structured joyful classroom culture with clear expectations supported by the HOUSE system
- Foster mentoring relationships promote social-emotional growth and communicate regularly with families
- Contribute to campus initiatives HOUSE activities and school decision-making
Qualifications
Required:
- Oklahoma teaching certification in History (Middle School or Secondary)
- Strong technology skills (Google Workspace)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible student-centered mindset with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment
- Alignment with Santa Fe Souths mission
Preferred:
- High school history teaching experience
- Familiarity with project-based or innovative learning models
- Openness to feedback and growth mindset
