Hardware Validation & Testing Engineer - Interiors/Body Systems
Job Summary: We are seeking a Hardware Validation & Testing Engineer to own and execute testing and validation activities for automotive body systems and interior components. This role will be responsible for planning executing and reporting validation tests to ensure product quality regulatory compliance and on-time program delivery in collaboration with design quality manufacturing and supplier partners.
Key Responsibilities: -
Lead hardware testing and validation for body systems and interior components including instrument panel center console door trims soft and hard trims DMS (displays mechanisms switches) and vehicle accessories.

Plan develop execute and document validation tests including inspections data processing and root cause analysis.

Design and fabricate custom test fixtures to support complex bench and component-level testing.

Document and communicate test results investigate failures and collaborate with design quality and manufacturing teams to drive corrective actions.

Manage test schedules and coordinate with external test labs and Tier-1 suppliers to ensure on-time and accurate test execution.

Define test part quantities and coordinate logistics for test samples and builds.

Create and maintain validation documentation including DVPRs test specifications protocols and test reports.

Support internal OEM-level testing and participate in cross-functional root cause and issue resolution activities.

Review test reports and prepare executive summaries for Design Release Engineers (DREs).
-
Drive DVP sign-off and support PPAP/LQP to enable product readiness and SOP timing.
-
Travel to test facilities as required to support validation activities.
Required Qualifications: -
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline.
-
5 years of automotive interior/exterior validation and testing experience at an OEM Tier-1 supplier or certified test laboratory.

Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as CATIA 3DX or SolidWorks.

Strong understanding of interior materials (plastics polymers fabrics foams) and interior assembly methods (clips adhesives fasteners welding etc.).
-
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and finishing processes including injection molding lamination hand wrapping painting chrome plating IMD/IML and related processes.

Familiarity with vehicle development milestones and product validation processes.

Experience using lab equipment such as environmental chambers shaker tables DAQs force/torque transducers actuators thermocouples strain gauges and LVDTs.

Working knowledge of FMVSS and global regulatory requirements for interior components.

Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.

Strong organizational communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
