Position Summary
Audio 1 is an integral part of the production team responsible for the audio mix maintaining the audio design and any other applicable needs as deemed necessary on the Amphitheatre stage. Applicants should be experienced in theatrical audio with collegiate training or equal years of experience. Tuacahn strives to achieve theatrical entertainment that our audiences have grown to love and this position is integral in accomplishing that goal. Reporting directly to the Audio Lead and Production Management Staff; this position supports the needs of the show as far as the Audio Department is concerned. Essential Functions Responsible for the audio mix from the console position adhering to the parameters set by the sound designer. Manage and participate as necessary in changeovers technical rehearsals put-in rehearsals and previews to manage technical audio needs monitor and aid staff and collaborate with other departments (Scenic Properties Video Lighting Special Effects Stage Management). Responsible for reading show reports rehearsal schedules and calendars. Follow-up on applicable details or notes and communicate information to other supervisors and staff as appropriate including Stage Management. Uphold Tuacahns production department policy and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Operate in a safe and professional manner at all times. Maintain a positive and collaborative attitude at all times. Additional assignments as required for all Tuacahn productions.
Qualifications
Degree in theatrical audio or commensurate years of experience in the field.
Advanced ability to troubleshoot while preserving integrity of a live mix.
Knowledge and passion for live theatre in general.
Previous leadership experience is a plus but not required.
Excellent Communication skills necessary.
Other Skills/Abilities
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to lead a crew.
The ability to work nights is a must.
Mandatory attendance for technical rehearsals and load in processes.
Must be able to troubleshoot audio systems and problems in a timely manner.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
Housing is available at $50 per week.
Production Dates: April 13- October 25 2026
Salary/Rate: $25.50/hour 2
026 Production shows include Les Miserables Finding Nemo and Grease.
