Were looking for a detail oriented and proactive Lead EHS Specialist to join a stable and well established leader in plastic injection molding manufacturing. This role is critical to ensuring workplace safety environmental compliance and the health of all employees while supporting adherence to regulatory standards and company policies. The Senior EHS Specialist will play a key part in driving continuous improvement across safety programs maintaining documentation and fostering a strong culture of environmental stewardship and occupational health.
Responsibilities: - Develop implement and maintain Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs in compliance with local national and international regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations root cause analyses and corrective/preventive action planning.
- Provide training and guidance to employees and management on EHS policies procedures and best practices.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics ensuring continuous improvement initiatives are tracked and achieved.
- Ensure proper handling storage and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and projects.
- Maintain accurate records permits and documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections or reviews.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 5 years of progressive experience in EHS roles preferably in Plastic manufacturing or similiar industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA EPA ISO 14001 and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
- Proven experience in conducting audits risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) CIH OSHA or similar are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
