Were looking for a 3D Generalist to join our vibrant Rovio Toronto team creators of Angry Birds Bounce on Apple Arcade and an unannounced new project.

In this role youll create high-quality 3D assets across characters props and environments helping bring our game world to part of a small agile studio youll work closely with your fellow artists designers and developers to ensure all assets not only look amazing but also run smoothly in-game.

This is an open vacancy with a salary range of CAD per year. At this stage we are primarily focusing our search on candidates based in the local area. The role is hybrid requiring onsite presence at our Toronto studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

You will have impact and fun at work by:

Model and texture 3D assets including characters props and environments in line with the projects style
Create layouts pose characters light scenes and renders for marketing assets
Work closely with the Lead Artist to ensure all assets are consistent with the brand and artistic vision
Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate assets smoothly and efficiently into the game engine
Optimize assets to meet mobile performance constraints without compromising quality
Contribute to the development and refinement of 3D art workflows and pipelines
Provide general art support across the team stepping in where needed

Experience and skills we are looking for:

3 years of professional experience as a 3D artist ideally in the games industry
Strong portfolio demonstrating skills in modeling texturing and materials with a preference for stylized work
Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g. Maya Blender ZBrush Substance Painter Photoshop)
Experience working in a game engine (Unity Unreal or similar)
Understanding of the 3D art pipeline from concept through to in-engine implementation
Ability to work within an established brand/IP and adapt to its style
Strong communication and collaboration skills

It would be nice if you also have the following skills:

A passion for video game development
Has shipped one or more mobile games
Experience working across multiple artistic disciplines such as concept art animation VFX graphic design or motion graphics

$73000 - $90000 a year
