We are hiring a Director of Energy for our Elmwood NE location. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.


The Director of Energy provides strategic and operational leadership for the Energy division with direct oversight of fuel delivery operations and customer service. This role leads a team of fuel truck route drivers and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and supports broader initiatives across propane fleet and safety operations. The Director of Energy ensures regulatory compliance operational efficiency and exceptional customer service while driving performance and partnering with the VP of Energy to execute departmental goals.


Essential duties:

  • Oversee daily fuel delivery logistics to ensure timely accurate and safe service.
  • Monitor fuel inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for replenishment.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of fuel delivery vehicles.
  • Customer Service Leadership
  • Manage and support CSRs in handling customer inquiries orders and service issues.
  • Promote high levels of customer satisfaction and timely resolution of concerns.
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to support customer retention and growth.
  • Provide leadership to fuel operations while supporting propane fleet and safety initiatives.
  • Assist in departmental planning budgeting and performance tracking.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement cost savings and service enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT OSHA and environmental regulations across fuel operations.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records driver logs and safety documentation.
  • Support safety training and certification programs for fuel drivers and CSRs.
  • Mentor and develop fuel team members and frontline managers.
  • Support recruitment onboarding and retention strategies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability safety and continuous improvement.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for fuel delivery and customer service.
  • Provide regular updates to the VP of Energy on team performance and operational metrics.
  • Represent the Energy division in cross-departmental and external meetings as needed.


Job skills and requirements:

  • Minimum 710 years of experience in fuel delivery operations energy services or logistics.
  • Proven leadership experience managing drivers and customer service teams.
  • Strong knowledge of fuel logistics inventory management and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with DOT OSHA FMCSA and environmental safety standards.
  • CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Excellent strategic thinking communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software inventory systems and CRM platforms.
  • Bachelors degree in business energy management logistics or related field preferred.
