The Role
Join us as a Senior Product Manager leading our ML/AI transformation. Working directly in the Country Directors team you will lead the launch and execution of multiple AI-powered projects across our nutrition and safe water programs: products that accelerate poverty reduction for millions of people.
Youll pressure-test our AI/ML ideas build prototypes and rightsize ambitionthen manage external engineering partners to turn validated concepts into deployed products. Youll spearhead 0-to-1 execution where success means people in the field are actually using and benefitting from what you built. Youll learn by shipping in a fast-paced mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
High-impact AI/ML Product Prototyping (40%)
- Lead the planning execution and delivery of multiple concurrent ML/AI products from conception to launch: scope definition requirements gathering and hands-on prototyping through proof-of-concepts and MVPs.
- Drive discovery and prioritization of high-impact use cases set realistic timelines and budgets and define technical and non-technical success metrics.
End-to-end Development & Partner Management (40%)
- Lead end-to-end delivery of ML/AI projects by managing external engineering teams translating validated prototypes into technical specifications and production-grade software.
- Oversee vendor/technical partner selection contracting and performance ensuring timely delivery quality standards and risk mitigation.
Strategy and cross-functional leadership (20%)
- Partner with cross-functional program teams data analysts field staff and AI Champions to design AI strategy that balances technical feasibility with organizational ambition and field constraintspositioning pilots for government adoption at scale.
- Build internal capability by enabling operations teams to sustain and scale AI products post-launch.
RequirementsEssential
- 5 years of product management experience demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle from inception to launch and maintenance for production grade software
- Proven experience in technical product management within the ML/AI software development domain
- Best-in-class communication skills written and verbal
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related fields
- Skilled at expectation management and stakeholder navigation
Desirable
- Deep understanding of AI/ML development including model training validation deployment monitoring and ongoing risks in low-resource production environments
- Hands-on experience across multiple AI domains: computer vision NLP/text processing predictive analytics geospatial analysis
- Proven track record working with AI/ML service providers managing contracts and setting clear expectations with external vendors
