Were seeking an experienced Cyclic Supervisor to support the Maintenance Engineer under our newly secured IDC contract with NZTA across the Manawatū and Whanganui this role youll be responsible for planning and organising cyclic maintenance activities across the network ensuring the right people plant and materials are in place to deliver work safely and efficiently. Youll lead multiple crews and at times work hands-on coordinating day-to-day tasks such as vegetation control drainage and culvert maintenance litter collection and sign and guardrail repairs. Working closely with the Maintenance Engineer youll help plan programmes set clear priorities and achieve realistic targets while developing staff capability and taking ownership of both people and plant to keep teams motivated and equipment well maintained for safe reliable operation

In addition to the above you will:

  • Lead safe work practices and foster a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with all company and legislative requirements.

  • Supervise and develop crews providing clear direction support and onsite leadership to drive productivity teamwork and performance.

  • Plan and coordinate resources programmes and daily activities so work is delivered safely efficiently and to agreed timeframes.

  • Monitor quality productivity and costs ensuring work meets specifications and projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders maintain accurate documentation and reporting and contribute to continuous improvement across the team.

Were looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in road maintenance or civil infrastructure ideally with exposure to cyclic activities (vegetation drainage litter signs/guardrails defect response).

  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills able to motivate and guide crews to meet safety quality productivity and network performance targets.

  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills confident dealing with clients the public and internal stakeholders.

  • Highly organised with solid time management and problem-solving skills and experience planning routes and programmes across a live network.

  • Current Class 2 licence with W T R endorsements First Aid certificate and other relevant tickets (e.g. traffic management plant operation).

  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather and near live traffic including lifting and operating equipment as required.
