Family/Whānau Visit Supervisor - Whanganui

The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a Christian Community Response and has a vision that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a secure loving family and receive a depth of care which will bless them throughout their lives.
The Family/Whanau Visit Supervisor role plays a very important part in families lives ensuring that family/whānau visits with children and young people happen in a safe respectful and responsible manner. Family/Whānau visits are a means for a child/young person to spend time with their parent or another person they are close to. It is an important part of a child/young persons journey to rebuilding a relationship with close family.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A mature calm patient and empathetic approach to dealing with people
- Experience working with children/young people and families
- Experience managing challenging situations
- A clean current full driver license is essential
- A First Aid Certificate
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
- There are some set hours however Flexibility is required in working different hours and days at short notice
- Some after hours and weekend work available flexibility required
- The ability to work in New Zealand
- Full drivers license is essential
- Casual work some after hours and weekend work required
- Open and adaptable to an environment that is always changing
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- An alignment with the Open Home Foundations Christian Kaupapa
