We are seeking a seeking a Drillers Assistant to support a Driller Geologist and Engineers in conducting subsurface investigations. Work will primarily consist of transporting maintaining and assisting in the operation of power and manual drilling equipment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with all drilling processes.
Assist in loading and unloading equipment and site setup.
Assist the field geologist/engineer with sampling equipment as needed
Follow all safety precautions.
Perform equipment maintenance and repair.
Complete Drillers Logs on Private Sector Projects.
Drive Drilling Support Truck as needed.
Complete daily mileage logs.

Skills and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Possession of a valid drivers license with a clean and safe driving record.
Ability to travel to work sites and stay overnight as needed.
Ability to work weekends or nights on rare occasions.
Ability to lift and carry up-to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
Experience and ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment
Experience and ability to use various hand tools and basic welding equipment
Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion.
Must have the ability to bend stoop kneel and twist use hands to grasp and arms to reach to raise hands above head to sit climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks.
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

Preferred Skills:

CDL Class A is a plus.
Preference will be given for individuals with a minimum of one-year experience performing heavy lifting moving of heavy tools and being familiar with the operation of heavy equipment and hand tools.
