Role Summary: The Carpenter is a member of the maintenance team responsible for constructing repairing and installing building structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials in an industrial and manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan layout and perform a wide variety of complicated carpentry work to drawings instructions and blue prints.
- Measure cut and shape wood plastic and other materials as needed using a variety of hand & power tools.
- Constructing building fixtures structures inside trim sheetrock framing walls tiling building stairs handing doors installing windows etc.
- Work in a team environment with or without assistance from other carpenters and/or construction laborers.
- Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and General Electric standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- 2 years of carpentry experience including but not limited to:
- framing walls tiling constructing stairs hanging doors installing doors & windows hanging sheetrock and installing counter tops & cabinets.
- Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams read and interpret complex technical manuals and materials and use shop math.
- Ability to work with associated power tools and measuring equipment.
- Requires experience with the constructing repairing and installation methods used in carpentry and construction projects.
- This is a 2nd shift work opportunity.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to lift move and manipulate fixtures and hardware up to 40 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations).
- Ability to work in confined areas work off ladders platforms and heights.
Desired Characteristics:
- Graduation from a Vocational High School program and/or an accredited program specializing in carpentry.
- 5 years of carpentry experience including but not limited to:
- framing walls tiling constructing stairs hanging doors installing doors & windows hanging sheetrock and installing counter tops & cabinets.
- Experience working in an industrial and manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with industrial and Massachusetts regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong mechanical abilities.
- Solid understanding of computers & technology along with the willingness to use application software and troubleshoot problems.
The pay for this position is32/hr. This posting is expected to closeon12/31/2026.
