Job Summary
Summary
This position is located at Marne Lanes Bowling Center Fort Stewart GA.
Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
- Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes sausage eggs hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
- Prepares food by peeling chopping grinding paring cutting slicing dicing pureeing dredging flouring or breading. Weighs measures and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
- Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas electricity steam or microwave heat sources. Disassembles cleans and assembles component parts and accessories following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
- Cleans other work areas and equipment such as worktables floors walk-in refrigerators etc. on an established cleaning schedule. Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of4 hours refresher training annually.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Satisfactory completion of physical examination.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria restaurant or mess.

c. Ability to work under pressure.

- This job is open to candidates who are located in the local commuting area. (Within a 50-mile radius of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield GA.) (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

- This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time regular part-time and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances cost of living (COLA) and differentials will not be paid contingent upon eligibility.
