Job Summary
DuraClass a trusted name in manufacturing Class 38 dump truck bodies and hoists is offering an exciting opportunity for a Quality Technichian Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This internship is ideal for students interested in manufacturing quality and real-world engineering applications in a heavy-duty manufacturing setting.
The Quality Engineering Intern will assist on projects that ensure all products meet internal and customer quality standards through inspections audits and process evaluations. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement efforts and supporting manufacturing teams by identifying documenting and helping to communicate and report quality issues.
Responsibilities:
Assist with inspections of welds and components for surface defects including cracks incomplete welds pits fabrication errors installation issues and paint flaws throughout various stages of production.
Perform inspections on fabricated components and machined parts under the guidance of Quality personnel.
Compare finished products to engineering drawings and specifications to verify basic dimensions and requirements.
Help identify document and track non-conforming parts and assist with trending of quality issues.
Support collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering Supervisors and Area Leads by communicating quality findings and observations.
- Participate in internal audits and assist with audit preparation documentation and follow-up activities.
Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by following standard workflows offering observations and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Assist with basic quality data collection and analysis using tools such as Pareto charts histograms and other introductory statistical methods.
