Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

Architecture & Solution Design
Guide end-to-end solution architecture for complex initiatives with a strong focus on application and platform modernisation.
Create clear review-ready architecture artefacts (solution designs ADRs and diagrams) that support shared understanding and informed decision-making.
Apply modern architectural approaches such as microservices micro-frontends domain-oriented design API-first integration and event-driven patterns.
Ensure solutions align with governance standards non-functional requirements and regulatory expectations.

Cloud & Modern Technology Enablement
Design cloud-native solutions on AWS and/or GCP using containers orchestration serverless services managed data platforms messaging/streaming identity services and observability tooling.
Embed cost awareness and FinOps principles into architectural decisions to support sustainable cloud usage.

Identity Security & Compliance
Shape identity and access architectures using OAuth 2.0/OIDC federation token design and zero-trust principles.
Help teams integrate legacy and modern identity platforms into cohesive well-understood patterns.
Design solutions that are secure by default and appropriate for financial services with strong consideration of privacy encryption secrets management and threat modelling.

Data AI & Analytics
Architect data platforms that support analytics reporting and insight at scale.
Promote strong data governance practices including privacy lineage and quality.
Support the responsible integration of AI applying safe patterns evaluation methods and appropriate guardrails within a regulated environment.

Delivery & Collaboration
Contribute to portfolio and program planning within scaled-agile environments (e.g. SAFe).
Help shape enabler epics and stories support PI planning and work closely with cross-functional teams throughout delivery.
Communicate architectural concepts clearly and thoughtfully to senior stakeholders enabling confident strategic decisions.

Enterprise Architecture Contribution
Support the evolution of enterprise architecture principles standards and guardrails.
Step into broader EA responsibilities as needed to help guide organisational technology direction.

Requirements:

Experience & Background
A bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Software Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
10 years experience designing and delivering complex technology solutions in modern enterprise environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting application and platform modernisation initiatives.
A collaborative approach to working with engineering product and business teams in Agile/Scrum settings.

Technical Strengths
Broad architectural expertise across applications data security and cloud.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP cloud-native services.
Experience with microservices micro-frontends event-driven architectures and API-led design.
Solid understanding of identity and access management including OAuth 2.0/OIDC and zero-trust models.
Strong grounding in data architecture analytics ecosystems governance and privacy.
Practical experience integrating AI responsibly within regulated environments.
A good understanding of security compliance and regulatory expectations in financial services.

Desirable Certifications
AWS and/or GCP Architect certifications
TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification
FinOps certification
Relevant security or data certifications
