Position Responsibilities:
- Role responsibilities include recruitment onboarding scheduling management and tracking of volunteers. This role will also oversee the volunteers who run our in-kind donation center. execution of digital communications print newsletters fundraising appeals social media graphic design and support on events.
- (35%) Volunteer Recruitment With a focus on budget relieving activities and in partnership with communications recruit volunteers to support Agates activities including shelter welcome center events and administrative support. Build and maintain a roster of potential volunteers. Connect with program teams to understand needs and brainstorm ways in which volunteers can enhance their operations. Write volunteer position descriptions post on Agates website and other platforms interview applicants manage appropriate background checks and maintain records of all recruitment activities in the Point Volunteer App.
- (30%) Volunteer Onboarding Work with program teams to arrange volunteer schedules and ensure staff teams have appropriate training and understanding of working with volunteers. Provide volunteers with Agate onboarding training in collaboration with the human resources department. Identify and source any materials volunteers need including computers email addresses building fobs etc. Train volunteers and ensure all hours are tracked and liability and volunteer handbooks are signed. Check in with volunteers and program supervisors as the volunteers begin work.
- (10%) Oversee In-Kind Donation Center Managed primarily by volunteers oversee the operations of the in-kind donation center. Supervise the volunteers recruit new team members as needed set strategic director in collaboration with the Associate Director of Grants and ensure regular reports are made to External Relations leadership.
- (10%) Volunteer Retention and Stewardship Serve as a primary connection to all volunteers at the organization for questions and needs. Ensure that all volunteer hours are tracked and supported when performance issues arise from program supervisors or volunteers. Plan and execute volunteer appreciation activities. Regularly gather and report on volunteer feedback including providing volunteer stories for marketing purposes. Attend team meetings and support on all-team projects and activities. Support on execution and at times project leadership of External Relations events.
- (15%) External Relations Team Participation Attend team meetings and support on all-team projects and activities. Support on execution of External Relations events.

- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Operates well in team environment
Accountabilities:
- Regularly fulfilling 85% of shelter sandwich program by July 2026
- Full volunteer management of the in-kind donation center
- 100% of volunteer hours tracked in Point App
- 100% of volunteers paperwork complete (handbook liability waiver)
- Annual volunteer report to Agate leadership
- At least 75% of in-kind donations are budget relief or strategic priority
