Sterile Processing Coordinator Modesto CA Shift: 3rd Shift 11:00 PM 7:30 AM
Schedule: 5 days/week 40 hours
Contract: 13-week contract with potential for permanent conversion
Job Summary - Oversee day-to-day sterile processing operations to ensure efficiency compliance and quality outcomes
- Lead and supervise sterile processing technicians during assigned shifts
- Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned assembled sterilized and distributed per standards
Key Responsibilities - Supervise SPD staff and coordinate shift assignments for proper coverage
- Monitor decontamination assembly sterilization and distribution workflows
- Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards IFUs OSHA and internal SOPs
- Perform quality audits and maintain accurate documentation
- Train mentor and support staff development and competencies
- Oversee equipment maintenance calibration and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with leadership on scheduling timekeeping and operational goals
- Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure instrument availability
- Promote infection control safety and regulatory compliance
- Assist with inventory management and supply reordering
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and KPI tracking
Required Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of sterile processing experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of sterilization standards infection control and OSHA regulations
- Experience with medical device reprocessing and surgical instruments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and timekeeping systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Education & Certification - High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CRCST certification (required)
- College degree or 3 years of leadership experience (preferred)
- CIS or HSPA-CHL certification (preferred)
