THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32) Position Description Number Dand is part of the IL AASF 3 National Guard.
As a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 32) WG-5378-5/8/10 you will perform duties involving the maintenance and repair of power ground and other support equipment used in aircraft servicing and repairs.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709) will be in the following manner and sequence:
Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank requirement of PFC and May not exceed the rank of MSG.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-10 Level - MUST possess experience or training removing adjusting replacing cleaning and installing parts components and accessories. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical electrical and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace fit install and make adjustments. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists manufactures repair manuals diagrams and electrical schematics. WG-08 Level - MUST possess experience or training must demonstrate a basic understanding of electrical hydraulic and pneumatic theory and the makeup and operation of the various individual systems and their interrelationships. Experience using a small variety of test and measurement devices. Experience removing adjusting replacing cleaning and installing a variety of parts components and accessories. Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals blueprints diagrams and schematics. WG-05 Level - MUST possess experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals illustrations diagrams and schematics and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting testing and repairing equipment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
