Role: Business Analyst II

The Team: Price Assessment WorkflowsBusiness analystteamis part of the Price Assessment Workflows team which in turn is part of the Strategy and Business Management group. This team is crucial in managing back-end workflows consisting of templates and business rules that enable S&P GlobalEnergyto publish extensive data and content. The team also provides second-line support for workflow-related queries and real-time system troubleshooting. Global teams across India the UK the US and Mexicowork together to ensure nearly 24/5 operational coverage and lead the evolution of our price assessment process architecture.


Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Engage withprice reportersto gather and clarify business needsrelated tomethodologychanges.
  • Translatebusinessneeds into well-defined user stories acceptance criteria and supporting documentation.
  • Map processesidentifyinefficiencies or gaps and recommend actionable backlogsfacilitatescrumceremonies and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Designandrefinescalable efficient workflows that align with business goals.
  • Deliver second-line support perform root cause analysis and ensure business continuity through issue resolution.
  • S&P GlobalEnergypublishes over 20000 daily price assessments and benchmarks providing crucialtimelyinformation that our global customers rely on for decision-making. A keen eye for detail strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skillsarecritical to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data and processes.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegree incomputerscience or equivalent with at least 4 years as a Business Analyst and 1 year in data lineage and analysis.
  • Proficient in Agile Scrum and LEAN methodologies with strong critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Capable oftranslating complex business requirements into clearandtestableacceptancecriteria.
  • Experience managing project lifecyclesandmeeting tight deadlines.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Be accountable forpricereportersengagementtimelydocumentation and follow-through on action items.
  • Proficiencyin project management tools like Azure DevOps Visio Miro and SharePoint.
  • Preferred knowledge includes Power BI Python Git SQL and familiarity with commodities markets.
  • Experience working with globalteams.
