Principal Development Planning Officer
As a Principal Officer in the Development Planning Group youll help to plan and deliver big changes in Birmingham. Youll be involved in and lead various local planning and regeneration services and projects. Your tasks will include:
Youll also contribute to major corporate projects seek and monitor external funding develop projects and ensure the proper use of S106 funds.
The role encompasses being an ambassador for the city - youll actively promote the citys development opportunities to developers and investors and work closely with Business Improvement Districts ward members community groups schools and universities.

As a member of the Planning and Development service you will be integral to capitalising on the significant development across the city and the arrival of HS2. The city has and will continue to experience significant employment housing and retail growth and this needs to be planned for to accommodate development pressure alongside protecting and retaining the Citys natural and built assets. The service is at the centre of this ambitious growth programme and we are seeking talented and driven people to deliver it.
A requirement for this role is holding or eligibility for RTPI membership.
