JAG Nebraska Program Manager Summary:
Jobs for Americas Graduates (JAG Nebraska) is an in-school elective credit class empowering students in grades 7-12 to achieve success in high school graduation further educationand employment following high school graduation. JAG Nebraska Program Managersare responsible forleading a team ofin-classCareer Specialists to fully implement the JAG Nebraska modelensureprogram goals are achieved build relationships with school districtsand community leaders and support the mission of the United Way of the Midlands.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuresthe JAG Advantage (Project Based Learning Trauma Informed Care and Employer Engagement) is implemented with integrity within each program.
  • Providescoaching mentoring and feedbackto JAG Nebraska Career Specialists.
  • Travelsto program sitesmonthlyto engage in meaningful relationship-building with students JAG Career Specialists and school administrators.
  • Conductsannual meetingswith thedistrict administrationin collaboration with JAG Career Specialiststo review program successes and to learn of and align with upcoming district and school goals.
  • AssistsJAG Career Specialistsschool and district administration as neededregardingstudent recruitment.
  • Communicatesprofessionally andtimelytomaintaineffective working relationships with school administrators community leaders business partners and JAG Nebraska leadership.
  • Ensuresevidence-based classroom management techniques areutilizedin each JAG classroom.
  • Reviewsanalyzesand assessesprogram performance outcomes byutilizingthe data in JAG Force monthly.
  • Reviewsassessesandattendsemployer engagement activities to ensure one hands-on engagement is provided in each CTE sector per program per school year.
  • Collaborateswith the UWM VP ProgramDevelopment to plan and coordinate employer engagement experiences to remove gaps in services for employer engagement.
  • Ensuresstrategic and meaningful partnerships with local United Way chaptersper program.
  • Attendsandassistsin planning and implementation of national statewide and regional student andstaffevents and training including facilitation of event planning committees as assigned.
  • Hoststeam meetings with JAG Career Specialists to share informationlearnteam needs and receive feedback.
  • Meetsoneone-on-onewith JAG CareerSpecialistsa minimum of once per monthto provide support as needed.
  • Recruits interviews and hiresfor JAG Nebraska Career Specialist positions according to the requirements of the position and in collaboration with each school districts administration.
  • Coordinates with the JAG Regional Manager and the UWMDirector Communicationregardinglocal media and press requests or engagements.
  • Maintainsthe highest level of confidentiality integrityand professionalism.
  • Effectively implementscurriculum projects and/or other educational opportunities consistent with the goals of the JAG and the Nebraska Department of Education requirements for Career and Technical Education.
  • SubstituteteachesforCareer Specialists as needed.
  • Performsotherduties asassigned by the supervisor.
  • TravelstoUWMa minimum of once per monthto attend JAG leadership events.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Builds leads and mentors a team ofJAG Specialists.
  • Interviews hires andtrainsstaff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Completesperformance evaluations and formal classroom observations for JAG Career Specialists according to United Way of the Midlands policy.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Required to work 12 months per year.
  • Mustcomply withschool staff handbook policies standards and expectations as applicable.
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel Teams).
  • Mustbe knowledgeable about human services.
  • Must have a good understanding of philanthropy and the role non-profit organizations play in our community.
  • Must have the ability to effectivelyrepresentUWM andJAGNebraska during community and stakeholder meetings.
  • Must be highly organizedresponsiveand able to handle multiple deliverables at the same time.
  • Mustmaintaina positive attitude and care deeply about the overall success of UWM and JAG Nebraska.
  • Mustestablishappropriate boundarieswhile developing andmaintainingpositive relationships.
  • Must communicate effectively orally and in writing with a variety of individuals within and outside of the school system.
  • Must be able and willing to followchainof command and organizational policies and values.
  • Mustpossessa current and valid drivers license.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position.
Education and Experience:
  • AccreditedBachelorsdegreerequired. Masters degree in relevant field preferred. Mustpossess3-5 years relevant prior experience successfully leading a decentralized team.
  • Within the first90 daysof employment must meet the Nebraska Department of Educations Teaching Career Education Permit requirements.
  • Must be willing to complete the Human Relations Training Requirement upon hire (if needed) asdeterminedbyNDE andbe willing to obtain the State of Nebraska Fingerprint Card Process (if applicable).
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
