The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS) will see MOD Serco and their consortium of partners providing a Tri-Service recruiting solution which for the RN will commence on 1 Apr 27. AFRS will provide end to end support from candidate attraction to assessment to preparing to join Phase 1 training. The solution will utilise Service Personnel in high value candidate facing roles in the Command and Support Unit and in recruitment selection Under-Represented Groups outreach and the national career centre.
Unit and Position Role
Unit Function - AFR will deliver integrated tri-service recruitment for the Armed Forces to build and maintain force levels able to meet Defence outputs.
Position Role - To provide information guidance and advice on all aspects of military life roles and career opportunities to potential candidates.
Responsibilities
- Act as Team Member under the direction of the OR6 Careers Centre CA.
- Act as the main point of contact for all candidates within the Contact Phase from initial enquiry through to successful completion of application.
- Conduct 1 to 1 appointments virtually or in person to support and nurture candidates on their recruitment pathway.
- Support the Career Centre manager in directly advising candidates onkey referrals including unsuccessful candidates at various steps.
- Ensure process efficiency;continually monitoring the ongoing quality and governance functions to support the development and improvement of processes.
- Ensure accurate and relevant records are created and maintained on AFRS system for all In-Service Transfers and Re-joiners.
- Assist in administrative support activities within the Recruiting Sourcing Re-Joiners team as directed by AFR policy.
- Support Outreach Team events including provision of careers advice sharing personal experience of life in the AF to engage and inform candidates.
Local Considerations
Domestic - Role may involve irregular working hours (inc rota-based weekend work with TOIL where applicable) with potential for hybrid and flexible working.
