The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking an experienced sous chef to fulfill an opening within our Major League kitchen.
This is a part-time contract seasonal role aligned with the baseball season and schedule spanning from approximatelyMarch 2026 to November 2026.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and quality control
- Inventory and stock management for assigned area
- Instruct cooks in preparation cooking garnishing and presentation of food
- Supervise activities of specialist chefs cooks and other kitchen workers
- Process and organize weekly food shipments and restock grocery shelves when needed
- Help in the development and implementation of meal design
- Ensure that food products presentation and preparation are of the highest quality and are prepared to serve in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred
- Proven experience as a chef in the sport or restaurant industry
- Exceptional culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines
- Strong communication planning and organizational skills
- Positive and approachable
- Ability to work within a team and complete tasks as assigned by the Executive chef
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings weekends
- Food Handling certification required
- Proven experience working long hours including early mornings late nights weekdays weekends and holidays
- Long shifts of restaurant work may require standing moving around and lifting
- Experience working within the professional or collegiate sports setting
- Basic understanding of sports nutrition
- Experience in Latin cuisine and ingredients
Salary:The anticipated base compensation for this role is $24.00 per hour.
