About these teams:
Our 4 South unit helps patients with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions regain their independence and transition back to community living. These conditions may result from motor vehicle accidents brain tumours nerve injuries or chronic conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Parkinsons disease. Some patients may also be managing concurrent substance use disorders. Our interdisciplinary team of approximately 50 professionals across nursing health disciplines and medicine we work together to address the varied clinical and psychosocial needs of each patient. Our team values continuous learning and a strong clinical acumen ensuring that every individuals journey toward recovery is supported by the best possible care.
Our 4 North Medical Rehabilitative Care team supports patients through some of their most challenging and transformative recoveries. Our team of over 45 individuals brings together nurses physicians and professionals from other health disciplines to support complex recoveries. We care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions (such as infections recent surgeries deconditioning frailty and cognitive impairment) who are working to regain strength mobility and functional independence. Many patients have multiple diagnoses and require both medical oversight and rehabilitation-focused support to progress with daily activities. Our team is highly collaborative and focused on helping each patient reach meaningful recovery goals.
In this role you will:
- Establish and uphold unit goals that reflect the philosophy and standards of Sinai Health while fostering an environment that supports staff development clinical excellence and high-quality patient care
- Take a lead role in creating a culture of safety risk mitigation quality and service at the unit level and across the portfolio to improve practices and service delivery
- Participate in the programmatic development of the clinical area
- Manage unit-level budgets and lead resource utilization across the unit and broader program to ensure financial accountability and operational efficiency
- Provide leadership in fostering and promoting a collaborative practice environment that is based on mutual respect among all team members
- Lead monitor and evaluate quality improvement and program development initiatives using data-informed methods that support departmental and hospital-wide priorities
- Encourage staff participation in quality improvement activities for the unit and preparing quality improvement reports
- Support the Hospitals strong academic mandate for ongoing staff development and training of students from all healthcare disciplines
- Recruit develop and manage staff; complete regular employee performance appraisals and support the development of learning plans
- Be accountable for the quality of care and patient safety at the unit level by actively maintaining a safe care environment. This includes risk identification safety audits staff accountability and ensuring the appropriate structures staffing equipment and procedures are in place
- Establish promote and maintain good public relations through effective communication within the organization
- Foster effective labour relations through knowledgeable interpretation and implementation of collective agreements
- Work with other members of the leadership team to support the implementation of evidence based practice and ensuring the dissemination of research findings to inform practice and improve patient outcomes
- Respond as PCM on call as needed
- Participate in the strategic planning process to drive organizational change and optimization of human resources programming and organizational development
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

Mandatory- Current registration with a professional college under the Regulated Health Professions Act
- Bachelors degree in a Health Sciences or related discipline
- Masters Degree in nursing health or business administration or health disciplines
- 3 years of leadership experience in a health care environment
- 2 years relevant clinical experience
