We are seeking an experienced patient and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Sutton starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs and creating a tailored inclusive learning environment that promotes academic social and emotional development.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and works closely with families colleagues and external professionals to provide personalised support for pupils with SEND. Staff collaborate to ensure each child receives the guidance and resources needed to reach their full potential. Senior leadership is approachable and supportive offering mentoring guidance and professional development opportunities.
As an SEN Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons that are specifically tailored to the needs of pupils with additional needs. You will lead interventions support pupils individual targets and work collaboratively with the SENCo teaching assistants and parents to ensure consistent high-quality support.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess lessons for pupils with additional needs
Develop and implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
Support pupils academically socially and emotionally
Promote independence confidence and positive learning behaviours
Work closely with teaching assistants to provide classroom support
Monitor observe and record pupil progress accurately
Liaise with parents carers and external professionals to coordinate support
Maintain a structured inclusive and stimulating learning environment
Lead small group interventions or one-to-one sessions as required
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching pupils with SEND ideally in a primary setting
Be patient empathetic and adaptable
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be proactive reflective and committed to continuous improvement
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
