We are seeking a patient empathetic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Slough starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping pupils with additional needs thrive academically socially and emotionally.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and works closely with families colleagues and external professionals to provide personalised support for pupils with SEND. Staff collaborate to create a structured nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children feel valued confident and motivated. As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted one-to-one or small group support. You will help pupils access lessons develop independence and achieve their personal learning goals while promoting confidence positive behaviour and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
Support pupils academically socially and emotionally
Promote independence confidence and positive learning behaviours
Help pupils engage fully with classroom lessons and activities
Observe monitor and record pupil progress accurately
Work collaboratively with teachers SENCo and support staff
Liaise with parents carers and external professionals when required
Maintain a safe structured and inclusive learning environment
Support pupils during transitions break times and structured activities
Attend staff meetings training and CPD sessions
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
