Job Summary

MW Partners is currently seeking a Engineer to work for our client who is a well-known leading utilities company.

Responsibilities and duties:

This contractor role supports the Field Engineering group within Distribution Engineering. The engineer will work closely with Field Engineering teams to support capital project scoping field-based assessments and process improvement initiatives.
The role emphasizes technical analysis documentation and collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Conduct field assessments and power system modeling (e.g. load flow studies).
Support grid modernization infrastructure replacement and resiliency programs.
Scope capital projects including overhead/underground conductor replacements programmable capacitor control and fuse upgrades.
Document and track projects using Client Project Initiation Forms (PIFs) and Master Distribution Interface (MDI).
Provide recommendations and documentation for system and process improvements.
Assist in training and guiding engineering teams on new tools and procedures.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of the distribution grid automated equipment and telemetry systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical maps and schematicsFamiliarity with SCE applications (CYME DMS EMS Circuit Viewer ADMS etc.)
Basic understanding of engineering principles and electric power flowExperience with data validation troubleshooting and equipment testingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Power Apps) for reporting and analysisStrong attention to detail organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasksEffective communication and collaboration skills with engineers field crews and stakeholders
