Controls Automation Engineer responsible for developing PLC and HMI control systems for material handling and process automation systems in life sciences and chemical manufacturing environments.

Job Requirements

Experience programming PLC and HMI systems from initial development
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC platforms including ControlLogix CompactLogix and MicroLogix
Experience programming HMIs using FactoryTalk View SE or ME or similar HMI platforms
Experience integrating and configuring variable frequency drives such as PowerFlex or similar VFD systems
Experience developing control logic using ladder logic and structured PLC programming techniques
Experience implementing automation controls for material handling or process technology systems

Preferred Skills

Experience using LogixDesigner version 33 or later
Experience using FactoryTalk View version 12 or later
Experience with PlantPAx process automation architecture
Experience implementing sequencing and phase management control strategies
Experience developing Add-On Instructions (AOIs) within PLC control systems
Experience integrating automation systems in life sciences or chemical manufacturing facilities

Job Responsibilities

Develop PLC control programs for automated material handling and process systems
Design and configure HMI interfaces for monitoring and controlling automated processes
Integrate Allen-Bradley PLC systems with HMI platforms and supporting automation equipment
Configure and troubleshoot VFD systems including PowerFlex drives
Implement ladder logic sequencing controls and automation routines within PLC systems
Support development of process automation architecture for industrial automation projects
Develop and maintain Add-On Instructions and reusable PLC code modules
Test and validate automation systems during system integration and commissioning
Troubleshoot PLC HMI and automation system issues during deployment and operation
Document control system architecture PLC logic and HMI interface configurations.
