JOB SUMMARY:
Acts as the liaison with Intellectual Property stakeholders on behalf of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood for uses of their IP in our theme parks and communications about the UOR and USH destinations. Acts as a consultant for each Intellectual Property within the organization; provides ideas and recommendations for positioning requests to IP Stakeholders in an effort to return favorable approval results. Ensures the organization fulfills its contractual obligations to the partners and initiatives are executed and project managed to fulfill Universal Destinations & Experiences brand awareness and business objectives. Oversees the IP approval process for high priority projects such as new attractions and seasonal events.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the approval process for usage of multiple Intellectual Properties (IP) on behalf of Universal Destinations & Experience. Provides clear and detailed explanations for submission requests to get favorable approval responses from our IP stakeholders.
- Provide tools and training to ensure that internal clients are aware of the process and compliance issues associated with using IPs in their materials. Directs internal clients how to develop/modify requests and/or creative in order to obtain favorable approval responses from IP stakeholders.
- Oversees the IP approval process for high priority projects such as new attractions seasonal events and high-volume travel segments. This may include overseeing the workflow of other members of the IP Partnerships team.
- Identifies opportunities for collaboration and process improvement with both internal and external stakeholder by recommending efficiencies that make review of North America approval requests more streamlined
- Utilizes diplomacy and negotiation skills with senior level team members (both internal and external) when presenting recommendations during the creative development and submission processes.
- Utilizes working experience with IP stakeholders to aid in the fulfillment of both their strategic and UPRs annual planning. Project manage and/or execute key business plans and initiatives as directed in a manner to increase the value (tangible & non-tangible) of the partnerships.
- Identifies opportunities for multi-park use of creative that is developed by one park that may be of interest and benefit to other UPR parks. Assist in further research on cross-utilization opportunities as required by theme parks or IP stakeholders.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience in Marketing/Advertising Legal Theme Park/Live Entertainment Administration Licensing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
