Job Description
We are partnering with a market leader in the specialized financial services and automotive value-added products sector. Part of a major JSE-listed group this organization is agile high-performing and dedicated to mobility for good. Unlike massive corporate environments where you might be a small cog in a large machine this environment offers the stability of a large group with the agility of a mid-sized entity (team of 79) allowing for direct impact and rapid decision-making.
Performance Objectives for Year One:
- Lead and technically mentor the Application Development Team: Within the first 6 months establish a hands-on leadership structure for the 79 person team. This includes not just administrative management but actively participating in code reviews resolving complex technical blockers and improving the SDLC quality.
- Master and Optimize the SQL & Data Landscape: Quickly achieve proficiency in the organizations data structure to personally handle complex SQL queries and reporting requirements reducing reliance on external vendors for day-to-day data insights.
- Stabilize and Expand Critical Integrations: Take ownership of the API and Web Services layer. Ensure seamless stability with existing banking and insurance partners and successfully architect the integration for at least one major new product or partner channel.
- Drive the Digital Transformation Roadmap: Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize and scope the migration towards a Dynamics 365/Power Platform environment ensuring the team is upskilled and ready for future stack transitions.
