We are seeking an experienced enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Crawley starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Upper Key Stage 2 and enjoys preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school while delivering high-quality engaging lessons.

The Role
As a Year 6 Teacher you will be responsible for planning delivering and assessing lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will support pupils learning in literacy numeracy and foundation subjects while fostering independence resilience and positive learning behaviours. You will also collaborate with teaching assistants colleagues and parents to ensure all pupils receive consistent and personalised support.
You will monitor pupil progress provide targeted interventions where required and maintain a positive inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity engagement and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum
Deliver engaging literacy numeracy and foundation subject lessons
Prepare pupils effectively for SATs and secondary school transition
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Support enrichment activities school events and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 6
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective adaptable and proactive
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work effectively as part of a professional and supportive team
